About Dr. Pierre Scott

Pierre Scott DMFT, LMFT (#112864) is founder and CEO of
C.O.R.E. FIT, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Doctorate in Marriage Family Therapy and a graduate from Loma Linda University. His clinical work focuses on, wellness, prevention and early intervention, trauma, medical family therapy, substance abuse, domestic violence, youth and young adult challenges, couple’s therapy, and suicide prevention, with the goal to empower individuals, families, and communities to live to their fullest potential.

Dr. Scott founded C.O.R.E FIT to promote wellness and help people live whole relationally connected lives. This done through the teaching of prevention and early intervention skills to improve cognitive behavioral functioning, overcome fear, anxiety, and unhealthy relationship patterns. The idea to start C.O.R.E FIT was borne from Dr. Scott’s experience working with individuals, couples, and families to overcome deeply ingrained unhealthy relationship patterns that often presented in treatment. Dr. Scott’s work in the field of prevention and early intervention further substantiated the need for C.O.R.E FIT to assist people to develop relational and wellness skills that prevent the need for treatment.

Beyond C.O.R.E. FIT, Dr. Scott volunteers with Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital Camp Good Grief to assist youth and parental development of coping skills in the aftermath of a family member’s terminal illness, murder, or suicide. Dr. Scott is a trained MDFT (Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy) Therapist, a suicide prevention safeTALK & ASIST trainer, and certified in Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1. He is also a professor and lecturer and enjoys the collaborative learning experience with his students.

Dr. Scott is also active in his church and interested in the intersectionality of spirituality, social justice, grief, physical and mental health. When he isn’t steeped into academics Dr. Scott plays trumpet, is a tenor soloist and choral ensemble member, enjoys outdoor sports (snowboarding, skiing, etc.), and the arts. Dr. Scott also speaks German, some Spanish, enjoys traveling and learning about new cultures.
